Get out the pruning shears and make sure the lawn bags are emptied!\u00a0 This is gonna be one GRASSY<\/span> tasting event, Friends!\u00a0 Presenting Meloza <\/strong>tequila, perhaps the most VEGETAL<\/span> and \u201cgreen\u201d tasting blanco currently on the market.

\nIn this omnibus Meloza<\/strong> tasting (from blanco to extra anejo!), Th\u2019 Lip<\/strong> walks his palate through the 4 ages of Meloza<\/strong> looking for that vegetal goodness to be present throughout the product line.\u00a0 Will he find a \u201cHarvester Heaven\u201d, or a \u201cHackneyed Hell\u201d?\u00a0 Watch and be surprised at how it all shakes out!<\/p>\n

GENERAL TASTING NOTES:<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As advertised (by Lippy<\/strong>), this Meloza<\/strong> blanco is perhaps the \u201cfreshest\u201d and greenest blanco<\/strong> you can buy.\u00a0 And you SHOULD buy it, if for no other reason than it is a completely anomalous taste sensation that will be a great place to \u201cgo to\u201d in your collection.\u00a0 This may be the template blanco for starting an evening of tastings.\u00a0 Unfortunately the reposado and anejo ages were less than stellar.\u00a0 The repo<\/strong> in particular housed flavors of astringent acetone and thin wood while bringing a lot of heat.\u00a0 The anejo<\/strong> featured more sweet caramel flavors and presented a surprisingly long and pleasing finish with some great jalapeno pepper in the nose, but ultimately in both ages the vegetal quality of the blanco was completely missing \u2013 leading Th\u2019 Lip<\/strong> to guess that perhaps those ages were from a different tequila \u201cseed stock\u201d.\u00a0 The extra anejo<\/strong> brought some welcome depth to the flavor party with the introduction of banana & pineapple all with a light touch for under $60!\u00a0 Nice.<\/p>\n
