Watch this episode on the nature of all things gorgeous and learn about <strong>Milagro Select Barrel Reserve<\/strong> tequilas!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In this episode, <strong>Lippy <\/strong>uncorks the \u201cgourmet variants\u201d of <strong>Milagro\u2019s<\/strong> tequila offerings: <strong>Select Barrel Reserve<\/strong>.\u00a0 These are upscale versions of their tequilas created in an entirely different process (triple distilled) and aged in French White Oak barrels to impart a toasty sweet spice.\u00a0 Do they succeed?\u00a0 ..and at a price point that is fair?\u00a0 Watch this show and learn about the Beauty in the Bottle!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">TEQUILA Details:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>BRAND<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.milagrotequila.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">MILAGRO Select Barrel Reserve<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>NOM:<\/strong> 1559<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>AGAVE SOURCE:<\/strong> HIGHLANDS (triple distilled, aged in French Oak)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1697\" title=\"Milagro_BarrelRes_Anejo_01\" src=\"https:\/\/tequilawhisperer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Milagro_BarrelRes_Anejo_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"395\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tequilawhisperer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Milagro_BarrelRes_Anejo_01.jpg 223w, https:\/\/tequilawhisperer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Milagro_BarrelRes_Anejo_01-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">GENERAL TASTING NOTES:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>From his first sip of the <strong>Milagro Select Barrel Reserve blanco<\/strong>, <strong>Lippy<\/strong> was able to identify a HUGE upgrade from the \u201cstandard issue\u201d Milagro juice.\u00a0 These special variants are all triple distilled for a much smoother flavor without sacrificing palate-interest.\u00a0 The<strong> blanco<\/strong> in particular brought a uniquely soft mix of sweet highlands floral, mint, black pepper and spice.\u00a0 The great difference between this <strong>blanco<\/strong> and countless other highlands blancos is the way that the Milagro SBR is fine-tuned to be a balanced and light-sweet experience.\u00a0 This is an all-night sipper that won\u2019t be too aggressive, yet will continue to \u201cspeak\u201d and reward the taster over a long period (say, Ken Burns\u2019 \u201cCivil War\u201d epic?).<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>reposado<\/strong> featured a surprising addition of sweet smoke to the flavor party.\u00a0 While this was a welcome taste to \u201cgo to\u201d, ultimately there wasn\u2019t a whole lot of additional wood-influence.\u00a0 Not a BAD <strong>reposado<\/strong> by any means, but not extra-exciting.\u00a0 An addition of caramel would have helped to bring an interesting interplay to the smoke.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>anejo<\/strong> brought forth a surprising amount of agave while still managing the delicate balancing act that was first introduced in the blanco.\u00a0 Note that this <strong>anejo<\/strong> is aged 3 years in French Oak \u2013 making it an actual <strong>\u201cextra anejo\u201d<\/strong> &#8211;
