as an homage to their family homestead (Ovejo) in Jalisco, Mexico.\u00a0 They contracted one of <strong>Th\u2019 Lip\u2019s<\/strong> favorite distilleries (NOM 1414) but in an interesting twist, they style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">GENERAL TASTING NOTES:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Gran Dovejo<\/strong> pride themselves on their tequila\u2019s singular flavor profile with its distinct break from the \u201chouse style\u201d at NOM 1414.\u00a0 In these efforts they succeed wholeheartedly.\u00a0 By bringing in Master Distiller, <strong>Leopoldo Solis Tinoco<\/strong>, the <strong>Gran Dovejo<\/strong> founders have deftly produced a new brand which utilizes \u201cold school\u201d distilling processes yet creates a singular flavor profile completely unlike anything else produced by this traditional distillery.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Gran Dovejo<\/strong> <strong>blanco<\/strong> brings a wet and musty full load of sweet agave on the attack.\u00a0 <strong>Lippy<\/strong> was rewarded by letting the tequila sit and \u201copen up\u201d for 10 \u2013 15 minutes.\u00a0 Most of the flavor action on the blanco happens on the back of the palate and upper throat, leaving a white pepper finish that is VERY long-lasting and comforting.\u00a0 Then the <strong>blanco<\/strong> does a neat trick of turning what remained on the upper mid-palate SWEET!\u00a0 In this way, you get a white pepper finish and a sweet mouth feel all at the same time!\u00a0 Nice job.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Gran Dovejo reposado<\/strong> and the <strong>Gran Dovejo <\/strong><strong>anejo <\/strong>fared less successfully on <strong>Lip\u2019s<\/strong> palate.\u00a0 There was a heavy introduction of oak which overpowered the more subtle flavors and there was an addition of musty, wet cardboard tastes which grew in the anejo until it became a very singular flavor.\u00a0 Not to <strong>Lippy&#8217;s<\/strong> liking for the most part \u2013 though fans of thick vanilla+wood will certainly appreciate these flavor variants.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">RECOMMENDED
