{"id":995,"date":"2010-06-04T10:16:18","date_gmt":"2010-06-04T18:16:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tequilawhisperer.com.php5-11.dfw1-1.websitetestlink.com\/?p=995"},"modified":"2012-09-12T12:53:50","modified_gmt":"2012-09-12T19:53:50","slug":"senor-rio_-blanco-reposado-anejo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tequilawhisperer.com\/?p=995","title":{"rendered":"Senor Rio_blanco, reposado, anejo (episode 40) tequila review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blip.tv\/play\/hfYcg4PHBgA.x?p=1\" width=\"480\" height=\"388\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a new brand that\u2019s made in a distillery that Th\u2019 Lip has visited and enjoyed!\u00a0 <strong>La Cofradia<\/strong> (NOM 1137) creates quite a few brands (Amate, La Cofradia, Luna Sueno, Casa Noble, &amp; more) and they\u2019re known for their recognizable \u201chouse style\u201d of slightly off-centered, bitter-influenced flavors (especially their blancos).\u00a0 <strong>Senor Rio<\/strong> is no exception, but it also features a great vegetal green and bright taste on the blanco.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nWatch as Lippy negotiates the flavor structures of the blanco, reposado, and anejo.  Then thrill to his unexpected discovery that he has unintentionally opened a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">TREASURE BOTTLE <\/span>of <strong>Casa Noble<\/strong> blanco!  HA.  We thought you ran a much tighter ship than that, Lip!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">TEQUILA  STATS:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>BRAND<\/strong>:<\/span> SENOR RIO<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">NOM<\/span>:<\/strong> 1137<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>AGAVE   SOURCE:<\/strong><\/span> Lowlands<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">GENERAL  TASTING NOTES:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Moving up the product line Lippy found a very close kinship between the Senor Rio reposado and the anejo.\u00a0 Almost too close.\u00a0 While the repo added some welcome complexity notes owing to a 6 month resting period in French oak, and certainly a mass of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">HONEY<\/span> flavors, there was very little added from the repo to the anejo.\u00a0 A sweetness component for sure, but also a higher alcohol attack.\u00a0 The finish on all 3 ages of the product was mostly from alcohol warmth as opposed to a lasting concert of interesting flavors.\u00a0 A note has to be included about the high ticket price of the entire Senor Rio line.\u00a0 It could benefit from a decrease in price of about 20% in this reviewers opinion.\u00a0 If you find them at an affordable price, give the blanco and repo a shot.\u00a0 If you like a lot of heat in your anejo, Senor Rio could be a match!<\/p>\n<p><a
